 KFC COLONEL’S SCHOLARSHIP:

Created in 2006 for a senior who plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a public institution in Hawaii.

· Min. cum GPA 2.75 or higher

· Enroll in a public college or university in Hawaii by 09/30/2010

· Pursue a bachelor’s degree

· US Citizen or permanent resident

THE HONOLULU FILIPINO JR. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SCHOLARSHIP:

· Proof of financial need

· Min GPA 3.00 or higher

Due: December 18, 2009

HAWAII ROTARY YOUTH FOUNDATION:

Founded in 1976 by Maurice J. "Sully" Sullivan. His vision was to “assist Hawaii's high school seniors in realizing their potential by providing financial support to attend the college of their choice in Hawaii or on the mainland.”

As of June of 2008 more than 1,274 scholarship grants with a total value of $4,182,263 have been awarded to Hawaii high school seniors since 1977. This year they anticipate awarding about 68 scholarships.

Two of the main scholarships are: Maurice J. Sullivan Scholarship Award for $10,000 and the other is the Joanna Lau Sullivan Scholarship Award for $10,000 ($2,500 per year for 4 years).

· Senior applying as a full-time student at an accredited 4 year college or university in Hawaii

· US citizen and Hawaii resident.

THE CHANCELLOR’S SCHOLARSHIP:

For Hawaii student’s who want to attend The University of Hawaii at Hilo. This is a four-year scholarship.

Due: January 31, 2010

CHARLES R. KENDALL SCHOLARSHIP & EDUCATION FUND:

This scholarship if for HGEA members and their dependents who are attending or plan to attend a university, college, community college, vocational school, trade school or other post-high school study on a full-time basis.

· Dependent of an HGEA member

Due: February 16, 2010

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN:

If you’re female residents of Windward Oahu – you are encouraged to apply for this grant. The grants, which are for a study at the undergraduate level only, are used for educational expenses at a regionally accredited, post-secondary institution in Hawaii.

· Legal, Hawaii women residents of Windward Oahu

· Enrolled or accepted for admissions to an accredited post-secondary institution in Hawaii

· Enrolled at least half-time is a classified, degree program

100TH INFANTRY BATTALION LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP:

Awarded to the student who is recognized for excellence in academics and community service; is in pursuit in promoting the legacy of the 100th Infantry Battalion (Separate) so that others will value freedom, loyalty and patriotism.

· Must be a graduating senior from the state of Hawaii

Due: March 8, 2010

GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS PROGRAM:

Established in 1999 to provide low income African American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline area of interest.

· US Citizen

· Cum GPA 3.3 or higher or GED

· Will be enrolling for the first time at an accredited college or university as a full-time student

· Demonstrate leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities

· Meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria

· Completed and submitted three required forms: Nominee Personal Info Form, Nominator Form, and Recommender Form
