Experienced in education as a teacher and parent I am most grateful for the hands-on education that my son (grade 9), is receiving at  AOP. It has been exciting to watch my teenager learn about studies and life under the tutelage of this remarkable teaching faculty. The friendships he has made with other students of all nationalities will lead to lifelong buddies. This interaction has made him a more sensitive and moral individual. Dean Watson’s approach is a true understanding of the needs of each individual. The leadership of Dr. Dorothy Douthit is unmatched by any director I have ever met. If you want your child to grow in a thriving environment there is no doubt that the Academy of the Pacific is the school for you.

My son entered AOP as a 7th grader. He had difficulties focusing on academics in prior years and fell behind in his reading and writing skills. He struggled to be a "C" student. I was apprehensive at first about sending him to AOP, but meeting with you prior to enrollment put my concerns aside.
AOP was a turning point for him. He not only became an "A" and "B" student, but also focused and responsible. AOP gave him self confidence and restored his self esteem as a student.
He remained at AOP for three years and spent his last two high school years at Kalaheo High continuing to maintain high grades and praise from his teachers. He went on to receive a BA in Psychology from the University of Hawaii, a Master of Arts Degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University in D.C. and will graduate this spring from Richardson School of Law at UH Manoa.
I am so proud of my son and so very thankful for the three years he spent on your lovely campus with the personalized attention he received from the dedicated teachers at the Academy of the Pacific.

I think of the success I have in my life and I truly believe it has been from the foundation of my childhood at AOP. The guidance of the faculty and the heart of [Dr. Douthit] as our headmaster has made the difference in my life. Through college, my brother’s passing, marriage and now kids I truly have AOP to thank for guiding my character to choose the right paths and faith to guide me through the hard times and good times.
Much Love and Aloha!

I was always in the Deans office and up to no good! I met some pretty awesome FRIENDS and TEACHERS that never gave up on me and supported me. I don't know of much schools that have so much ALOHA!!! I just want to thank all those who supported me through the years.

The friends and teachers will always be in my heart and helped shaped me into the person I am today.... Gotta love "mandatory" beach days, may day, eating lunch with the best view of Honolulu, Mr. and Mrs. K, cottage style class rooms, the reading reference room, Mr. Maginis' photo wall of fame, honor roll lunches, the entire student body picture for the yearbook, turkey trot.....I could go on and on! I am truly proud of my alma mater and wouldn't change a thing! Much love to AOP: staff, students, and alumni.

I loved the times I had with everyone, including all the teachers.

I was able to make a lot of new friends and the teachers are the nicest people I've ever met. They are my Ohana!
- Masayasu T., Former Student
I loved how Dr. Douthit would walk around at various times of the day and talk to students, get their perspective of life at AOP and just say, "Hello". Â Even though AOP is small it makes it like a family because you get to know everyone well.
